If you're like me, you have a really small budget but that doesn't really excuse the fact that I own over 60 pairs of earrings. And if you're like me, you probably have those cheap gold bamboo earrings/doorknockers from street vendors & boutiques, like these.
I hate it though when after a while, it starts to turn brown or discolored. So one day, my friend Mia texted me a way to keep those still bright gold & gaudy (according to my mom).
CLEAR NAIL POLISH.
Yep, that's right. A thin coat of clear nail polish to prevent discoloration. I still havent done it yet but it's worth a try. If not, I'll just have to spend another 5 bucks on a new pair. Let me know if you have any other tips!
Thanks Mia!

For Christmas
I am really tempted to buy this innovative scarf from American Apparel.
It is called a circle scarf. The concept is simple enough. It's circular and comes in the vast array of unique colors that AA is known for but the fact that you can wear it 12+ ways is what got me. Besides its initial function, you can wear it as a hoodie scarf, a skirt, a capelet, or even a minidress. Check it out at: http://store.americanapparel.net/circle-scarf.html
Is it worth $28 though?
Everyone knows me as a scarf person. I even got one as a present from my bosses at Park but I'm also not someone who splurges on items that I could easily get for $5, namely scarves.
Hmmmmmm....oh, the dilemma.

Brrrrrrr..it's cold in here
I would say fuck this cold weather.....
but then I wouldn't get an excuse to wear my fabulous coats.
I am really into the high collar coat now.
Or if you're going to go classic, do it with a twist. Don't put on what everyone else has.
Now that's style.....
Since it's cold as fuck here, I am also digging hats now, which is crazy cuz I NEVER used to wear hats.
Or this cloche hat, which is similar to a fedora but got that retro vibe inspired by the 20s.
This is from Urban Outfitters.
Ciao for now! I'm going to warm my toesies. :P

Struck by Style #2
I don't care what anyone says. Coats ARE part of an outfit. They are outerwear, yes that's true. But that doesn't mean you should ignore it completely as if it's not part of the ensemble.

Like this light grey one from Forever 21.

I like trenches but do something different like this military style one with the asymmetrical collar and the bell sleeves from Charlotte Russe.

I like berets like this royal blue one from Forever 21.

Internationally known - Canada
Greetings love muffins! AiAiAiAiAi....
I've just come back from my fall break trip to Toronto, Canada...so fabulous! I gotta say, the people there got MAD style....even guys just walking out in daylight to do whatever are dressed to the tee (and no, they're not just in tee shirts)...Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me but if I did, I would've capture some pics of the locals. SO fresh SO fly...Anywho, I was fortunate enough to go into the shopping district, which was paradise btw...I had to stop to take a breath upon seeing this long strip of stores galore :D
I managed to snag 4 pairs of shoes (1 pair short brown suede boots; 1 pair high black suede boots; 1 pair skyblue-grey striped cotton flat w/ a twist; & a simple pair of black suede flats w/ a bow); a pair of purple tights, dark grey corduroy skinnies, & a red hobo bag w/ a big bow on it.....all under $140 in Canadian :)
Here are the two top stores that they have over there that I visited:
http://www.urban-planet.com/
Urban Planet is a very urban (duh) & streetwear place that offers affordable prices on everything from shoes to coats...very fly!
http://www.blnts.com/store.cfm?&ckey=CA&lang=eng
Blue Notes is a very Old Navy/Gap-esque place that's casual yet chic...that's where I got the skinnies from and 2 pairs of shoes.
In addition, the place we stayed at was a hostel (that was definitely an experience) and it was near Kensington Market, which is a very big Farmers' Market/Canal Street-esque place...They sold everything from food to traffic vests (seriously...mad traffic vests) in these little makeshift shops so of course, I had to stop and do a little accessories shopping.
Those who know me know I have a shit ton of earrings and am always looking to accumulate more...which happened...I got a pair of big silver hoop earrings that are thicker in one part of the hoop...simple yet fabulous for $3 Canadian...gotta love that new currency shit...
So I thoroughly enjoyed Toronto...The club scene was fabulous, the streets are clean, people are stylish, and the food was SO diverse (we had Chilean, Greek, REAL Chinese, & Ethiopian...yum!)
So if you're ever in Toronto, def hit up those places!
eat breathe sex style,

Style Exists #1
Fuck my life. I have been applying to internships left and right so that I could get my ass to DC next semester, which can explain my absence from this blog. I will be in DC next semester (hopefully) and will be curious as to experience a new style down there.
This is a Style Exists moment. This is my friend, Sayoh. I chose her to be my first because she definitely embodies my idea of style (Note: not my style, my idea of style). She's eclectic, random, and possibly crazy sometimes (but that's more so her personality than her style). Her wardrobe consists of bright colors, different tees, and a bunch of polka dots. She has a strange love of panda bears and unicorns, which translates to her clothes. But her look is definitely very "sayoh," which is what prompted me to have her featured here.
When a look can only be described as your name (i.e. "sayoh"), that is when you truly own your style. Only Sayoh can pull together a combination like this (with different pairs of homemade shoes) and still look good. Note: only a few people I personally know have their names as style looks. Think you're one of them?

(Yes, that is a large cutout of Destiny's Child in the back; No, don't ask..)
Note the shoes she designed herself and that they are both different:
